There are many choices available when specifying fitouts and fixtures. These choices can help define an attitude for sustainability, cost-effectiveness and fit-for-purpose. Here are some of the choices we choose to make:
- Our fixtures are often still in the market looking great for 5-10 years. We build with powder coated aluminium interior sub-frames that are light and reusable vs heavy and one-off use MDF interiors.
- Powder coating lasts longer than painting and is non-toxic. Longer lasting fixtures are good for the bottom line.
- Aluminium subframes also allow modular clip-on faces to be rebranded and redressed and returned into store at a fraction of the cost of a rebuild.
- Recycled and recyclable materials are becoming more and more cost-effective and fit-for-purpose – Our designers promote the specification of sustainable materials.
- Solvent Waste Management doesn’t have to be a difficult conversation – Especially when you use soy based printing inks and recycle or responsibly dispose of oils & solvents, as we do.
- You can’t sweep sawdust under the carpet either. Especially when it is MDF that contains harmful formaldehyde. We recycle useful sawdust and responsibly dispose of the rest through specialised collection and management.
- Recyclable metals are sorted and then collected weekly so we are preserving our resources for the future – well every little (Litter) bit counts.
Many businesses are seeing the benefit in making sustainable choices as in this example below for Torpedo 7. They have taken the initiative to upcycle their plastic carry bags to create flat sheets we have used in this retail display.
